I think most of you know by now that I am not very good with a sewing machine. Don't get me wrong...I do try to make things every now and then. But after spending hours on a project which should have taken only 30 min, it's easy to get discouraged and give up for a few weeks or months till I get the urge to try something again. Fortunately there are lots of women who have the amazing talent of creating beautiful works of art on the sewing machine and today I'd like to introduce you to one of those women. I was recently introduced to Laura, creator of Wave Kaia. Laura can make just about anything on the sewing machine, however she specializes in clothing for kids.
After taking a peek at Wave Kaia online, I was definitely impressed with her style of clothing and the variety of fabrics that were used as well. There were many various articles of clothing that I liked, however, because I have an adventurous 4 year old boy, there is one article of clothing that stood out the most. Can you guess what it is? Yes, it was the Super Hero Cape. My son has been asking for a cape for quite a while now and I kept telling him that I would try to make one. Can I just say that I am so glad I didn't? Wave Kaia generously sent me a Super Hero Cape for my son that was SUPERIOR in Quality. It was much better than I could have ever have made. This is definitely the kind of cape that will last a L-O-N-G time. I also had the opportunity to personalize the cape. Laura asked what I wanted to be put on the back of the cape and so I sent her a picture and she was more than willing to make it just like what I had requested. I was also able to choose from her available fabrics which ones I wanted her to use for the cape. And even after all of this, she let me choose whether I wanted the cape to tie or snap at the neck. Ok...seriously...you can't get much more custom and personalized than that. Not to mention, the PRICE for the capes are AMAZING!!! Here is a picture of the cape she made for my son, who by the way has been wearing it non-stop (except for when he goes to bed) since it arrived.
As I previously mentioned, Wave Kaia offers several beautiful products in their Etsy shop.
